We belong to the Minnesota-Dakotas District of Kiwanis International.
The Kiwanis Club of Little Falls was Chartered April 29th, 1961. The first Club President was David Larson.
Our Club has had five members serve as Lt. Gov. over the years, they were: Robert "Bob" Verley; Wallace "Wally" Erickson; Glen "Kray" Kraywinkle; Betz Tepley & Charles "Charlie" Erbstoesser.
We have supplied/purchased all of the playground equipment in the Washington Playground, which we replaced in 2017; & we bought the lights for the Jaycees / Kiwanis Park in SW Little Falls as well as donating thousands of dollars for scholarships, and youth projects throughout the community.
Our Club originally started 'Pancake Day' 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day. It has since become very popular & we no longer do this. We even had "Aunt Jemima" come to our event one year.
Our Club started the Honor's Reception & recognition award, for students maintaining a "B" average or better from the time they entered high school through graduation, & award one scholarship each year and has expanded into the formal High School Scholarship program.
We are proud to be the sponsoring Kiwanis Club of the "Little Falls Flyer Key Club," the only high school 'service club.' (KEY stands for: Kiwanis Educating Youth.)
PROJECTS WE DO:
Lenten Fish Fry
Kiwanis Trivia Night
Adopt-A-Hwy
Peanut Sales
Brat Sales
Home Delivered Meals
Read America (in elementary classrooms)
Habitat for Humanity of Morrison County
and many many others
In 2017 our club completed replacing the playground equipment at Washington Playground. On August 12th almost 30 volunteers helped put together the equipment.
